Overview
Faceboard is a social network with posts, friendships, stories, notifications and one-to-one chat. I built the Spring Boot backend and the React client, and added a read-only demo account so visitors can explore the live app without signing up.
What I built
- REST API for posts, comments, likes and friendships over MySQL, with schema changes managed by Flyway.
- Real-time chat over JWT-authenticated WebSocket/STOMP, with live notifications sent only after the database transaction commits.
- Tokens tied to the current password hash, so a password change signs out every existing session.
- A read-only demo mode enforced on the server, with JUnit tests for services and controllers.
